Smyrna Gun Show

Just returned from the Smyrna Gun Show and spent to much of mine, and my brothers money.

I purchased a few hundred 12 gauge 00 shells in two ammo cans for my shotgun, and my brother purchased a Ruger P345 .45ACP semi-automatic, a rigid holster, and 100 rounds of Winchester White box for it. I am very proud to have helped him select his first handgun. That's what big brothers do.

The filled to capacity parking lot at first worried me that things would be crowded I wheelchair for long trips and the large numbers of tables made it very comfortable there. A bit humid and warm due to the weather, but nice. Nice people, nice firearms, and a realization that I did not have enough money for all the stuff I wanted to purchase.

Tazers, swords, flick knifes, guns, rifles, shotguns, big .50 calibre rifles, and ammo galore. The show has everything your gun loving heart could desire, and more.

The gun show runs through tomorrow night and costs 10 dollars to get in. Go know. I saw one .380 Hi-Point for $110 dollars. While not the best, a good first time firearm.

I went to the same show and was highly disappointed. It was nothing more than a glorified flea market.
I expected more guns. Many of the local dealers refuse to attend that certain show for some reason or another.
I will save my money and enjoy the Nashville show.

I never went to the new promoter's show but was told to save my money. He is trying to move into the area. He brings knives and junk and calls it a gun show.

Poppy says, Save your gas and money. Every show since the first has been declining. Use the net or your local gun shops. I went to all of them just to see what cheap comes through the door.

Went to the last show too and brought 2 guns to trade in for a hunting gun. The floor walkers come to that show in droves. I don't trust those guys buying and selling walking the floor. I could of got more money from them but who knows where my guns in my name would end up.

We went to the show, 2 shows ago.

The show was nothing like the shows we had in Alabama.

The door cost is double and very few guns.

If you are looking for tools, hats and tee-shirts, you found the right show.

A gun show should have at least 2/3 guns, not fillers.

What show did the author go to? It surely wasnt the show we attended.
We were all disappointed with the few guns they had. It looked more like a chinese flea market.
The author should attend a real gun show, then compare.

We only wish there were more guns and less junk. Most dealers were not even from the state, let alone the area. Buying used guns or any guns from people you may not ever see again is not promising.
More than you can wish for?????

I enjoyed it, but I will admit that I only hit about half of the show. We purchased what we were after and left.

While for some reason this blog post has gotten a noticable number ofnagative hits, the fact is that even a bad gun show can have good parts, and sometime the exact item you need.

I guess people look at them and judge them on differnet criteria.

I went there too with a friend. We too were hoping for more guns. Parts and such are easy to get off the net any time.
The real toys, > guns are what we went for and were disappointed.

I love gun shows. This one was a huge disappointment. Maybe if they didn't say it was all that my expectations would of not been so high.
I just hope they have more guns in the future. I am going to pass on the next show until I get a better report on % of guns verses what nots.

Been to a few shows. Not what we espected for a highly published gunshow. It was maybe OK at best if you were a knife collector or needed some GI gear. I can not say we will be back.

I thought the franklin show was dying, this is put together by quantity not quality.

Where were the guns? I know local shops that have more guns than the gun shows.

We have 3 different shows in the area and all three are killing each other.

Nashville will be the one standing when it is all said and done and the dust settles.

I for one returned to the local stores. At least you know what to exspect when you walk in the door and you get service after the sale.

3 thumbs down. Where are the guns?

We can buy new guns at any local store or off the net.

We need more dealers who have nice collectable items not knives, new guns, junk and more knives.

Whoever is running this show: If you want to have a gun show, have a gun show. Need I say more?

sorry I had to repeat myself, I did not notice my last comment was there. (same person)

Watered down show. Lacks guns. All the fuss and no guns. Why dont the gun guys show up? Same ole, same ole. They had the tables, but felt like a flea market with new firearms.

I would not waste my money on any show by that promoter. Look around and see what crap he brings us. We need a real gunshow with real guns.

THE SHOW WAS A JOKE! wHERE'S THE GUNS????

The show did not have the same big dealers he had in franklin. What is up with that? I am tired of going and seeing junk. That was my last show with this group unless things drastically change.

Never will i attend a RKS. No guns, no fun.

I went to the Smyrna gun show today, it will be my last! About 80% of new firearms/accessories could be bought online and shipped to my home for less money. The vendors would not budge on anything. It was a waste of $10 at the door, my fuel and time. The one at the Nashville Fairgrounds is even worse.

We made a visit to a gun show. Getting slimmer with gun dealers everytime. Why can this promoter not get decent dealers. Same old dealers same old stuff.

This show sucked. Period. I went looking for items that should NEVER be ABSENT from gun shows. When vendors won't budge on items priced $300 higher than MSRP, they can kiss my a$$. It's always the same ol' sh!t from the same ol' vendors who will even cash-rape the regular attendees they know by name. The best "gun show" is in Greenbrier, TN. Plus, it's open 7 days a week, and, it's free to get in!

Finally thsy had some guns. I was quit impressed with a couple of the set ups on the top side. I revisited Sunday and several of the venders packed up and left. I was disappointed about that. (I needed to return an item) That is why I like to shop with local businesses. :)

The last show was better than all the shows in the past 2 years there.
We found a local dealer who gives great show only deals so we may continue attending this one. Has anyone else noticed ammo is being more and more abundant? Everyone is carrying it now.

Gunner said...

I hope so. I need some more ammo and the last time I looked the prices simply hurt to view them.

I just plink but that is getting too costly.

Anonymous said...

I plink too but with 22's.That is all I can afford. I have most of the big boy guns matched up with their little brothers look a likes in 22's.
I thought the dealers were weak there. I know 2 of the bigger dealers who attend the show are letting their FFL's run out. Not sure why.
It will get to the point where true FFL dealers will be the only ones allowed to set up at gun show. Sad but true. Is the show going to continue there?

Sorry about my confusion. I was speaking of the gun show in Franklin at the rodeo expo. the one in Smyrna is so-so at best. They need more gun dealers but do have a sham-wow dealer!
