Smyrna annexes 109.5 acres for housing development near Stewarts Creek schools

The rural area surrounding Stewarts Creek schools will look more like suburbs after the Smyrna Town Council annexed 109.5 acres Tuesday for a housing subdivision.
"That whole area is going to populate that way," said Vice Mayor Marc Adkins, who expects the housing growth near a campus complex serving around 4,100 students to be similar to what has happened around the Blackman schools on the west side of Murfreesboro.
