The DNJ has some information on a lot of new job openings coming to Smyrna. Jobs are good, local jobs are better.
Three Smyrna auto parts suppliers for Nissan agreed to add a combined 520 jobs for tax breaks the Rutherford County Industrial Development Board provided Wednesday.
The total investment from Federal-Mogul for 285 jobs, Topre America for 145 jobs and Steel Technologies for 90 jobs is about $142.4 million, according to documents provided to the IDB from Paul Latture, president of the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce.

All Arounf the World
I normally limit events that involve travel and a fee, but this one seems pretty interesting and educational. Murfreesboro is hosting an "All Around the World" program for the whole family. Educational and fun. A nice combination.
Make plans ahead of time and have some fun.

I did not know it had been 11 years.
HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION CONTINUES - 11 YEARS LATER
During the early morning hours of April 23, 2006, 2 year old Analyce Guerra went missing from her family's apartment. Numerous emergency service agencies and community members assisted Smyrna Police in a search for Analyce.
On January 4th, 2008, the remains of Analyce's body were located in a wooded area in Murfreesboro. The medical examiner determined her death was the result of a homicide.
Smyrna Police and the FBI continue to investigate this case and are still in search of information and leads. If anyone has information that could help us locate the person or persons responsible for Analyce's murder, please contact Detective Nabours at (615) 267-5434 or Detective Anderson at (615) 267-5433.
