Question for Smyrna

The question is simple. Why do so many churches meet on a Wednesday? I have tried to find it online, but have come up with nothing. A lot of hits on "Ash Wednesday, but nothing that goes into detail on the history of why there is a common meeting among so denominations on that specific weekday.

I personally have no idea, but my guess would be the "middle of the week" thing. Churches wanted to have an additional time together and having it evenly spaced from Sunday probably made the most sense.

Wednesday night church was never anything biblically stated, I think a lot of times it was just an opportunity for a mid-week refersher. Here's a yahoo question that kinda ties in:
