With no real information or an over abundence of information, it is easy to get false ideas on certain things. Here in Smyrna the Smyrna Police Department posts near the beginning of each month the basic crime numbers. This might give you a better idea on how we look as a community.
These are the monthly and year to date calls for service that officers have responded to at the Smyrna Police Department. This is not the Uniform Crime Report that is submitted to the FBI and TBI.
I might try to get a copy of the "Uniform Crime Report" as I am sure it gives more details and numbers of success of solving crimes. I really have to say that this openess is refreshing and a good sign.
