Creative Clash YouthSmyrna Camp is July 29-Aug 2; 9-4:30 for completed 4th - 12th grades
Daily we are bombarded with thousands of visual images that impact emotion, direct thoughts, spur us to action and generally inspire us to consider creating unique visual images of our own. “I wish I could do that” is a phrase often uttered by individuals who could in fact create if they just had a chance and the right instruction.
Musical Theatre YouthSmyrna Camp is July 29-Aug 2; 9-4:30 for completed 3rd-12th grades
Prompted by the success of the hit Disney Musical “High School Musical” and the rave television show “Glee”, musical theater is once again in the attention and spot light of many students. In response to this new love of modern musical theater, Carpe Artista and Actors Point Theater Co. are partnering together to provide a week long musical theater camp that will allow students the opportunity to learn and grow in the skills needed to perform in musical theater. Local professionals from greater Nashville’s theater community will be teaching and administrating a feature packed week. Through out the week the students will sing, act, dance and prepare to perform in the Summer Mix Tape showcase that will take place at the end of the week.
Visual Arts Mini CampThis camp is specifically for the younger student - completed grades 1, 2 and 3!.
All the big boys and girls get to go to camp during the summer and we think the younger creatives should have a camp of their own.
The camp day will be Monday through Wednesday from 9 am to 12 noon in the Carpe Cafe Paint Studio at 115 Front Street, Smyrna. (615-984-4040).
Carpe Artista has really made a strong effort to reach the youths and adults in Smyrna in everything from art to music to theater. They are worthy of praise and I wish them well in their endeavors.
