Smyrna is pretty lucky that the efforts of many groups have kept the wild dog and cat population in control. Paws is making an effort to tomorrow with a spay day.
World Spay Day is tomorrow, February 23! Read below to find out what this means:
"World Spay Day, a day that shines a light on the importance of spays and neuters, and the need for more affordable services, is this Tuesday, February 23.
How can you help? You can help save animals’ lives, as well as make a positive impact on the community by participating in World Spay Day.
Rutherford County Pet Adoption and Welfare Services (PAWS) is offering many opportunities for residents to receive spay and neuter services for free, NOW FOR BOTH CATS AND DOGS!
On this day, come in to PAWS, as they will have a great supply of applications and information made available for those who want to help spread the word and/or fill out an application to receive the free service.
To receive the service, the owner of the cat(s) or dog(s) must first fill out an application by coming in to the shelter or printing one from the PAWS website. They must also bring in a driver’s license or other proof of residency. There are no other requirements or restrictions.
Help your furry friends and the community, by coming into Rutherford County PAWS this Tuesday for World Spay Day.
For more information contact PAWS or message us on Facebook. PAWS is located at 285 John R. Rice Blvd. in Murfreesboro."
