Getting a VA job

The VA job center has gotten me several emails on how to apply through my column and through this website. The process is really easy on the surface.

1. Go to USAJOBS as applications are only online
2. Search for the 37167 zip code.
3. Refine search by limiting radius to 10 miles
4. On left click "Department Of Veterans Affairs" to remove non-VA job offerings.

This should then leave you the best list to find the Smyrna VA call center job openings. Not all will be the Smyrna openings, because as of yet I have not seen Smyrna listed, as I think they list it as Murfreesboro or Nashville. I'm not positive on that point.

Supposedly there is an easier way to find the positions.
1. Go to USAJOBS as applications are only online
2. Search for the key word CPAC
3. On left click "Department Of Veterans Affairs" to remove non-VA job offerings

This brought the search results down to 5 listings from the original 74 as of this date...but none for Tennessee as of the time of this posting.

This was the easy part, with qualifying experience and education now comes the forms, and submission of resume. That's the hard part

Good luck.

They said in a article back a month ago that the jobs would be avail. online as you listed for the new positions on Nov. 9th. However I have looked everyday since then and still NOTHING is posted under CPAC. Do they know when they will post it or if this is BS and there is some other way to apply???

Here is an update I spoke with a lady from the VA in HR. She said go to usajobs and put murfreesboro tn in and search. Then go to agents and chose the VA. Also she said they are not putting a phone center in Smyrna she did not know who made that announcement, but it was not done threw the VA. As of last week they had not posted jobs yet for the public they were only available to current employees. The jobs will be post to the public within a week.
