Normally the releases I post here are for credit card fraud, shoplifting and such, but it is rare that violence or the threat of violence is part of the release.

STRONG ARM ROBBERY

On May 2, 2016, at approximately 10:50 am, a 56 year old woman was walking through one of the breezeways at the Verandas apartment complex in Smyrna. A black male between the ages of 18 to 25, wearing dark baggy blue jeans and a white sweat shirt ran up behind the victim and knocked her to the ground. The suspect stole her purse and began running toward a black Nisssan Murano that was waiting outside the main gate of the complex. Two citizens that were working nearby, intervened and were able to get the woman’s purse back. The suspect was accompanied by two black males, a black female, and possibly a second black female.
