We are proud to announce that the Go2Smyrna.com web site is now live and serving the residents of Smryna, Tennessee!Their main section will be their forums where people can come and talk about the local issues that interest them.
Go 2 Smyrna is the place on the Internet for residents of Smyrna, Tennessee to come together and catch up on what's new in our hometown and to talk about the local things that matter.
Go 2 Smyrna is an online reflection of our community. It is who we are as residents of Smyrna individually and corporately. It is my neighbor across the street and the guy who owns the restaurant where my family eats once a week. It is the pastor at my church and the police officer who patrols my neighborhood and keeps the wolves away from my door.
In short, Go 2 Smyrna is me. It is you. It is all of us, talking about life here in Smyrna. It's what we make of it... so let's make it a great place to be, just like our town is a great place to live.
So drop by and say 'Hi' to them.

Have you tried to register for the forums? What a mess...why all the personal information...surprised they didn't ask for a blood type, and urine sample!
I don't understand!
Hope the site is a success...but why would anyone reveal that much personal information (the site is "needing") just to be part of the community?
"Go 2 Smyrna is an online reflection of our community. It is who we are as residents of Smyrna individually and corporately. It is my neighbor across the street and the guy who owns the restaurant where my family eats once a week. "
...and it's a website that needs a lot of work!
The only information we ask of our members is the same information asked when registering on ANY vBulletin based forum. Which information is it that you feel is overly intrusive?
We do ask that members provide their real name, but that field is kept confidential and never provided publicly. People tend to behave more politely when they know that their real name is on record somewhere. Rude behavior isn't uncommon when people feel like they can hide behind the anonymity of the Internet.
We'd love some constructive feedback on what we can do to make the site better. "Needs a lot of work" is pretty vague and open. Can you be more specific?
You can reach me at david-at-go2smyrna-dot-com with any suggestions that you might have. I'll do my best to address each and every one of them. :)
Hey Guys,
This is James, the other half of Go2Smyrna.com I'd like to echo David's remarks. Criticism is awesome, and I appreciate it. However, I'd love it if you could follow up with a suggestion. I look forward to hearing your ideas on the forum!
Maybe Cynic is referring to how it's pretty bare right now.
If I were you, I would also change the date on your introductory post - it makes the site look dead to have something from 2007 there.
Best of luck.
Thanks for pointing out the date issue. I didn't realize that I had left the date blank, effectively allowing the CMS software to pick one out of the air.
In reality, we had our "soft opening" last week and have only started really trying to get the word out in the past few days.
