Question
What do the readers here think of the Minami Japanese Steak Seafood & Sushi. I'm thinking of taking my wife there tonight and I've NEVER been to a sushi joint
It's my favorite restaurant in town. My fiancee and I go there at least once a month, previously once a week when we had a little more disposable income. The sushi is amazing.
When we got there the place had been open only an hour so we were the only people there besides one lady with her child. The hostess was nice and the service was great and we enjoyed it a lot.
We got the hibatchi(?) instead of sushi and I also got a Sapporo beer and an order of beef noodles. The beer was cold and very smooth and served with a cold mug.

I ordered the Talipila(?) and chicken hibatchi and my wife ordered the sirloin hibatchi. Both were good and in copious ammounts that also served me for lunch today as a leftover.

It's very good. I was pleasantly surprised. I hadn't expected to find good sushi here.
Part of the experience is the "show." The flames, knives, etc. Kids totally love it... and I enjoyed it too. Plenty of skill there.
And did I say it? The food was good!
Haven't tried that one, but the Tokyo Japanese Steak House is excellent, and is my favorite local sushi bar.
Compared to, say, Knoxville's finest, they all prolly need to work harder.

We really enjoyed it. My 6 yr old even deemed it her "3rd favorite" restaurant behind McDonald's and Chuck E Cheese's. High marks indeed!
