First the 10 Commandments, now opening prayer

Many of you may have heard about the huge bill Rutheford County has to pay for posting the 10 Commandments.

Now, the question is whether or not to open the county commission meetings with prayer is a good idea.

The issue of the separation of church and state at such meetings is complicated according to this morning's Daily News Journal. As the story points out, such things as using the Bible to swear in the President are done and those extend all the way up to the federal level.

Of course, the last thing we need is the ACLU coming in and suing us again for something because someone got offended.
