Another shutdown in Smyrna

Graphic Packaging has announced plans to shut down a plant here in Smyrna at the beginning of the year. I cannot find out the number employed but hard times are happening for everyone.
Folding carton facilities in Greensboro, North Carolina and Richmond, Virginia, will discontinue production before the end of 2008 and another plant in Smyrna, Tennessee, at the beginning of next year.
I hope things get better quick.

Sorry to hear about the shutdown. That is bad news. I hope some new businesses come in to take up the slack.

Unfortunately, I think things are going to get much worse before they get better. So many things in America are now built on credit that when there's a downturn, things get ugly quick. I fear we need to unwind a LOT of debt obligations, both personally, corporately and nationally before the end of this tunnel.
